Thousands of local, national, and international non-profit organizations participate in the CFC each year. Federal employees choose the non-profit organizations that they want to contribute to. There is no guarantee that non-profit organizations that participate in the CFC will receive any donations.
The local non-profit application process for the 2009 Southwestern Idaho CFC has been completed. The local non-profit application process for the 2010 Southwestern Idaho CFC will begin in March 2010.
CFC Disbursement Process
The vast majority of federal employee donations to non-profit organizations through the Southwestern Idaho Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) are made through payroll deduction. The Southwestern Idaho CFC begins receiving payroll deductions in January of each year for pledges made during the preceding campaign. For example, in January 2009, the Southwestern Idaho CFC began receiving payroll deductions from pledges made during the 2008 campaign, which ended December 15, 2008.
The Southwestern Idaho CFC notifies all non-profit organizations that received pledges of the estimated amount that they can expect to receive by a deadline established by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). For the 2008 CFC, the deadline to notify non-profit organizations of the estimated amounts was March 16, 2009.
