Chair's Message

Happy Golden Anniversary!  This year marks the Combined Federal Campaign's 50th anniversary. The world has changed markedly since President Kennedy first established the CFC as a way for Federal employees to support non-profit organizations, but one thing has remained constant - the incredible generosity of Federal employees. Over those 50 years, Federal employees have given over $7 billion to organizations dedicated to improving our communities, our nation, and our world.  This is particularly remarkable when you consider that, unlike in the private sector, there are no corporations matching these donations.

This year also marks a transition for the Intermountain Combined Federal Campaign.  We recently merged with the Southwest Idaho and the Southwest Colorado Combined Federal Campaigns.  The new Intermountain Combined Federal Campaign now serves Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and portions of Colorado and Oregon. This merger further reduces overhead costs for an already highly efficient campaign.  This is important to those of us who give through the CFC because it means even more of our dollars go to support those organizations doing good.

I love the CFC because it allows me to choose how much I want to give and to whom I want to give.  Within this book are over 2,500 charitable organizations that represent a broad spectrum of causes and good works, serving people next door and around the world. Whatever your beliefs, whatever your concerns, whatever your passion, you can find organizations here that do work that is meaningful to you.

As the CFC celebrates its Golden Anniversary, let's also celebrate by renewing our longstanding commitment to organizations and causes that we believe in and are passionate about.
